as you probably already know, my name is Hali (pronounced Holly) and my heart belongs to post production.
a little about me...
my filmmaking journey began when my dad gave me his old camcorder when i was 10 years old. little did i know how much of an impact it would make on my life. i would make little videos with this camera all the time, usually having the cast consist of my barbie dolls. fast forward to a few years later, i got into the youtube world. making gaming videos that included me playing something, editing, then posting to my channel. as silly as it may sound, this process was what really helped me understand the different levels of video making, which helped me to realize that i loved the editing part of filmmaking so much more than filming. with this newfound knowledge and an entrepreneurial mindset, i decided to create a website to offer editing services to youtubers that didn't have time to edit their own content. with lots of patience and time, i eventually reached youtubers with over 10 million subscribers. i edited for content creators all throughout high-school, and now i'm a freelance video editor in college! so in short, i'm very grateful that my dad decided to give me that camcorder that day. i have no idea where i would be without film.
